How does ScanOne's facial recognition technology work?

ScanOne's facial recognition technology utilises advanced AI algorithms to analyse unique facial features and match them with enrolled profiles. When a person approaches a ScanOne-enabled access point, the system captures and compares their facial characteristics against the stored data. This process ensures fast and accurate recognition, providing seamless and secure access control.

Is ScanOne compatible with existing access control systems?

Yes, ScanOne is designed to integrate smoothly with existing access control systems. We understand the importance of compatibility and offer flexible solutions that can seamlessly connect with various infrastructure components. Whether you have a standalone access control system or an integrated security platform, ScanOne can be customised to suit your specific requirements.

What hardware should we use?

• Minimum spec 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, i3 Gen 10 CPU, Front or Rear 1080p Camera, Wifi 6 eg. Microsoft Surface Go 3 • For more demanding Facial Recognition tasks and smoother performance choose a device with a faster CPU and better GPU. • Windows 10 & 11 are supported

Do we need 230v power?

Yes, the tablets need constant power to be connected and running

Do we need a hard-wired internet connection?

This is preferred but the system will work fine over WIFI

Does ScanOne provide Anti-Virus software?

No, this is responsibility of client.

Who is responsible for windows updates?

Depending what software support package you have, will depend on if ScanOne or yourself do the updates

How do I enrol people for Facial recognition?

You can do this using the ScanOne App or by sending a link to people to allow them to enrol using their own device or mobile phone.

How do I control who registers?

If you are using the web enrolment, you have an option that requires you to approve their enrolment before they can access the site. This option is controlled from your site settings. A ScanOne App Administrator would control the enrolments on your devices.

What other options can be used to sign people in and out?

As well as Facial Recognition, our app supports Pin codes & ID cards.

How secure are the Pin codes?

There is nothing to stop people sharing pin codes, however, if you find that a pin is being shared, you can easily disable access for this person, or get the pin changed. If it continues to be a problem, we recommend using Facial recognition.

What happens if an ID card is lost or stolen?

You can change the barcode # for the person who has lost the card, and re-print their card. The old card # would no longer be able to be used.

Our Facial recognition is not working for some people, why is that?

The quality of the face recognition depends on several factors. The first relates to the quality and number of the enrolled photos for a person. When enrolling, ensure that the person’s face is displayed in the middle of the camera feed, the lighting is good, they are not wearing glasses or a hat/helmet, at least 6 photos are enrolled and no other person is in the feed. We find there is a wide variety of quality when users enrol their own photos using our web enrolment process, so for the best quality, enrol people using our application running at your site. If you still experience problems, please reach out to us, providing details of the person, and information about what they are experiencing.

We are running ScanOne at several sites, can a person registered at one site be allowed to access other sites?

Yes, for each person, you can select which sites they are allowed to access. This prevents you from having to duplicate data across multiple sites.

Can we import a list of people into ScanOne to save us from having to manually enter their details?

Yes, there is a CSV import template that you can use to populate the basic data for people.

We are using a Microsoft Forms induction process, can we use the information processed from this induction process to populate people into ScanOne?

Yes, we have an integration between Microsoft 365 and ScanOne that can be configured for your site. There are several ways this can be done, so please reach out to discuss the options and costs of implementing this.

Are there any other third-party integrations that you support?

No, not currently, but please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Is there a Web API we can use to retrieve and populate data?

Yes, please talk to us about your specific requirements.

How do I find out who is current onsite?

There is a handy report on the ScanOne website under General Reports called Who is Here. This shows you a list of people who are currently onsite. In the event of an evacuation, you can also use this page on a tablet with internet connectivity to mark people off as being present.

Some people forget to sign out at the end of the day, is there a way we can automatically sign them out?

Yes, there is an automatic sign out feature you can setup that will sign out people at a certain time of the day, such as midnight if they are still signed in.

Can I get notified when a particular person enters our site?

Yes, you can put a person on a watchlist, and setup an alert to notify you via email that they have arrived.

Can we use ScanOne to record visitors onsite?

Yes, this is a feature you can turn on. It allows you to send an email to the person they are meeting once they have arrived onsite. The visitors can self-sign-in, or be signed in by a staff member.

Do we have control of the messaging presented to people when they sign in?

Yes, there is a lot that can be customized, including questionnaires that can be asked. Please talk to us about your specific requirements.

What reporting is available?

There are numerous reports available within ScanOne, these can be exported as PDF or CSV files, and some can also be sent on a schedule.
